Naturopathy is the practice of natural medicine using various modalities to treat and prevent illness. Naturopaths are trained in anatomy, physiology, herbal medicine, nutrition, diet and lifestyle recommendations, supplements, flower essences, mineral therapy, homeopathy, hair and tongue or nail analysis, iris diagnosis, counseling and massage.
Naturopaths treat the individual as a whole, aiming to find the cause of disease rather than treat the signs and symptoms the illness may present with. A naturopath will educate and motivate patients to take responsibility for their own wellbeing through healthy attitude, lifestyle and diet.
